SPC 1200 DLS
Creep testing of miniaturised specimens up to 1200 °C — a machine the market does not yet have.
A high-temperature testing machine for creep testing by the penetration method to EN 10371. It takes the Small Punch Creep Test into temperatures no commercially available equipment has reached so far — into the region of creep-resistant alloys, superalloys and materials for next-generation power generation.

SPC 1200 DLS is being developed in a project of the TREND industrial research and experimental development programme of the Technology Agency of the Czech Republic, Technology Leaders subprogramme. UTMdev is responsible for the design, the software and the build of the machine; the Institute of Physics of Materials CAS for preparing materials and specimens for the highest test temperatures and for the functional and acceptance testing. The goal is a machine for creep testing on miniature discs at temperatures for which no affordable solution exists on the international market today — fully in line with the newly approved European standard CSN EN 10371 (420312).

Technical parameters

The SPC line has three machines. SPC 800 covers ordinary service temperatures, SPC 1000 adds higher loads for research and SPC 1200 goes highest in temperature. We are glad to discuss which one suits your materials.

Choice of cartridge — two specimen sizes
The machine is the same either way; only the exchangeable cartridge with the punch and the die changes. You choose according to how much material you have — and the decision is not final, a cartridge can be ordered later.

Mini Small Punch
For cases where material is genuinely scarce — it fits on a disc three millimetres across. It originates from TEM discs and is typically used for irradiated materials.

Both geometries are part of EN 10371 — results from either are standard-compliant. For the miniature specimen, however, the standard itself notes that less experience is available with it and gives some of the more detailed recommendations only for the standard Ø8 mm size. Take that into account when planning a testing programme.

PT 8 blanks the specimen from sheet, GE 76 grinds it to 0.5 ± 0.005 mm as the standard requires.

Up to 1200 °C. For superalloys, creep-resistant materials and next-generation power components, where the ordinary SPC range ends.
